ABN AMRO’s DJSI score changed

- Sustainability
S&P Global, the organisation that calculates the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) score, has informed ABN AMRO in an interim update that it will factor the settlement with the Dutch Public Prosecution Service into its calculation of the bank’s current DJSI score.
Six points were deducted due to the impact of this specific case, putting ABN AMRO at an interim score of 77 (on a scale of 1 to 100).
In calculating the scores, S&P Global looks at environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors. In 2019, for example, it took into account the interest rate derivatives file in assigning a score to ABN AMRO.
S&P Global annually assesses more than 3,500 listed companies for the DJSI. The ranking is announced at the beginning of each year.
ABN AMRO strives to rank among the top 5% of most sustainable banks worldwide. After this change to its score, the bank is in the top 15%.
