Today ABN AMRO publishes its annual report for 2022. This Integrated Annual Report provides an overview of our strategic choices, the environment in which we operate, how we seek to create value and our financial and non-financial results.

In addition, we also publish a number of other reports on specific subjects, including the Impact Report and the Human Rights Report. Below are a selection of the topics covered in the Annual Report.

1. 2022 performance at a glance

In this section of the Annual Report you will find an overview of our earnings, cost-income ratio, Net Promoter Score (NPS), market share growth in focus segments and other key indicators.

2. Key highlights of 2022

2022 was an eventful year – a year in which ABN AMRO published its climate strategy, apologised for its historical involvement in slavery and appointed new Executive Board members. See also other highlights in the Year in review section.

3. Putting clients’ interest first

We organise our business by client needs – to ensure that we put our clients’ interests first. We transformed our business into three client units from January 2022 and continue to focus on serving clients in the Netherlands and Northwest Europe. See Our client units section for more information about each client unit, our geographical footprint and our businesses per country.

4. What do our clients think?

The Annual Report also contains interviews with three ABN AMRO clients. Mrs Karijadi, who talks about how she is working closely with her debt counsellor at ABN AMRO to ensure she can keep up with the bills, Teun van Leijsen, who explains what Entrepreneur & Enterprise means in practice and Ewald Bontje, who tells us how his business is coping with increased costs.

5. “Despite all the uncertainty, our priorities will remain the same”

In three separate interviews, our CEO Robert Swaak, Chair of the Supervisory Board Tom de Swaan and Chief Risk Officer Tanja Cuppen reflect on our performance in 2022, the Ukrainian war and the execution of our strategy.
