Jos ter Avest (54) took over as Senior Managing Director of ABN AMRO MeesPierson, ABN AMRO’s private banking division, on 1 December 2013. He is now responsible for ABN AMRO’s markets and clearing activities. Prior to taking up this new post, he gained wide experience in the commercial and private banking operations. Frans van Lanschot (63) stepped down with effect from the same date; he will continue as a senior advisor to the Managing Board, focusing on large private banking and corporate clients.

Talking about the new appointment, Chris Vogelzang, member of the Managing Board with responsibility for Retail & Private Banking, said: “Jos is a highly experienced banker and private banking specialist. I am delighted with his appointment. I owe a debt of thanks to Frans, among other things for the way in which he guided the integration and introduced the new investment service."
