VolkerWessels Real Estate and ABN AMRO are joining forces for 'Energy-zero-zero' living. The first energy bill-zero homes in the Netherlands have already been sold. Due to great success, the sale of the next 11 energy bill-zero homes will start on 8 February 2014.
The houses are part of the Sterrenberg project in Huis ter Heide (municipality of Zeist). Five mansions have already been built, with the remaining fifteen being started soon. The costs of an energy bill-zero home vary from € 234,000 to € 335,000 for a townhouse.
With this project, VolkerWessels Vastgoed wants to pave the way for building energy bill zero in the Netherlands from now on. ABN AMRO is contributing to this by being the first bank to provide the necessary financing for buyers. With the existing Regulation on Temporary Mortgage Credit, very energy-efficient homes are eligible for an expansion of the financing space. The amount of a maximum of € 8,000 is enough to pay the majority of the additional investment in the energy bill-zero home.
The collaboration between VolkerWessels Vastgoed and ABN AMRO is not exclusive. The hope has been expressed that other parties will follow. VolkerWessels Vastgoed and ABN AMRO share the common goal of contributing to making the Dutch housing market more sustainable. Ultimately, it is about the customer who wants to live in an energy-neutral and therefore also financially more independent way. The ideal image, in which all homes in the Netherlands can be built without energy costs, comes a step closer. More information about Energy and the Sterrenberg project can be found at
