Let’s Fight Alzheimer’s

News item -

ABN AMRO is continuing its support as a partner of Alzheimer Socks and is promoting the Let’s fight Alzheimer’s campaign. The goal is to sell as many special Alzheimer socks as possible, which is how we support the Alzheimer Center’s research.

Why Alzheimer socks?

Alzheimer’s disease is one of the biggest concerns for the future. One in five people will suffer from Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. Our bank supports clients who suffer from dementia or other effects of ageing. We help them to be financially self-sufficient and to get a grip on their financial affairs. That’s why ABN AMRO is supporting the ‘Let’s fight Alzheimer’s’ campaign again this year. Our goal? To raise money by selling as many Alzheimer socks as possible.

What are Alzheimer socks?

One pair of Alzheimer socks contains two different socks. These symbolise the confusion Alzheimer’s patients suffer from daily. By buying the socks, you make it easier for people to talk about Alzheimer’s while supporting charity. The profits will go to the Alzheimer Center Amsterdam for research. Not only does the centre care for patients, it also conducts scientific research. Alzheimer’s disease can’t be cured yet, but it’s certainly treatable.

Let’s fight Alzheimer’s

Alzheimer socks are available for purchase starting 21 September. Unlike previous years, the socks are available online only and not at our head office. Will you join the fight? Order socks at www.alzheimersocks.nl for just 7.99 euros per pair (website in Dutch only). You can also buy them at select outlets of Jumbo, Hoogvliet and Picnic, among others.

Help fight Alzheimer’s together with Marco van Basten, Humberto Tan, Tim Senders and Twan van Steenhoven (aka Big2 of The Opposites)! Wear your Alzheimer socks, leave your shoes at home, and show everyone you want to talk about Alzheimer’s. Share a photo of you and your Alzheimer socks on social media with #letsfightAlzheimer or download the ambassador’s flyer.
