ABN AMRO merges head and regional offices

Press release -

As a result of the integration between ABN AMRO and Fortis Bank Nederland, ABN AMRO plans to close thirty ABN AMRO and Fortis Bank Nederland head and regional offices between 2010 and 2013.

The new bank will have two head offices in Amsterdam, at Gustav Mahlerlaan and Foppingadreef. Most of the premises which are to close are located in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht.

Three-quarters of the premises are leased. These leases are due to expire or will be terminated. The other remises are owned by the bank and will be sold or leased.

The closure and merger of offices, which involves concentrating business units and operations, will contribute to the objective of the bank to make its accommodation more efficient, to optimise its services and to reduce costs.

The closure of these offices runs alongside with the process of combining local bankshops in the Netherlands which was round off on July 6.
