ABN AMRO hires senior bankers in Germany to boost its offering to corporate clients

ABN AMRO announces three new appointments in Germany to boost its offering to corporate clients in the country.

Mr Andreas Weigel came on board earlier this month as Head of Food, Consumer and Retail. Mr Weigel joins ABN AMRO from Lloyd’s Bank where he worked for three years after many years at Rabobank where he lead the European debt advisory team. 

In addition, ABN AMRO appointed Mr Tim Pankoke who will be the new Head of Technology, Media & Telecom and Services with effect from 1 July 2017. Earlier, Mr Pankoke worked for NIBC, BNP Paribas and Citigroup. 

Mr Martin Drosdek will join ABN AMRO per 1 August 2017 as Head of Banks. He comes from JP Morgan where he worked for 18 years. 

They will report to Stefan Meine who was appointed in January 2017 as Head of Corporate Banking in Germany to spearhead the bank’s activities. Mr Meine and his team will expand the range of financial products and solutions for corporate clients in Germany.      

As announced in August 2016, ABN AMRO’s ambition is to grow its international business. This includes the growth of corporate banking activities in neighbouring countries of the Netherlands as well as in specific sectors worldwide. Globally, ABN AMRO serves an international client base in areas where the bank has a leading position.
