Amsterdam, March 7th, 2018: ABN AMRO Clearing announces the winner of the AIF Factor 2018 competition
AIF Factor winner
Firth Investment Management wins AIF Factor 2018 at the Amsterdam Investor Forum
During ABN AMRO Clearing’s 7th Amsterdam Investor Forum on 7 March 2018, the Firth Asian Systematic Equities Fund was voted the AIF Factor 2018 winner. The fund successfully pitched their investment strategy and convinced a group of over 250 delegates, comprising of investment managers, institutional investors, Hedge funds allocators and high net worth individuals. The winner attracted a most decisive 46,1% of the votes. Runner up was the GreshamQuant ACAR Fund with a respectable 22.5% of the votes.
“First time in Amsterdam for this contest and winning the AIF Factor award is a superb and rewarding experience,” said Dr Hamish Macalister, Portfolio Manager and Deputy CIO at the Singapore based Firth Investment Management Pte. Ltd. “What a great opportunity to meet up with and present our fund strategy to such a diverse audience of highly professional investors and managers.” The Systematic Equities fund looks for untapped inefficiencies in Asian markets. The compelling argument in the pitch was the ability to capture most (and often more) of market upside during a rising market, but a much smaller proportion of downside in a falling market.
“Five impressive finalists who did extremely well and a convincing winner, ” said Delphine Amzallag, Head of Relationship Management Prime Europe at ABN AMRO Clearing. “I am especially pleased with the diversity of the strategies presented in most compelling and enthusiastic pitches. I would like to congratulate Firth Investment Management for winning the AIF Factor. The dynamism and clarity of the presentation and the appealing risk/return profile of the fund made a particular impression on the audience which resulted in a clear victory.”
