ABN AMRO and Young Impact extend partnership by two years

- Sponsorship
Young people are capable of making a great difference in society, as we have all seen again last year. Despite all the additional challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, these impact makers have once again proven that they can have a positive impact on others, no matter what setback they encounter. In order to keep working with active young people and Young Impact to gradually make the world a better place, ABN AMRO is renewing its sponsorship of the Young Impact Day and the Young Impact Awards for two more years. Extending this partnership is in keeping with ABN AMRO’s ambition to accelerate the transition to a sustainable world with equal opportunity for all.
Ending inequality of opportunity for good
The focus of the partnership between ABN AMRO and Young Impact is on the Young Impact Day, the annual event where young people celebrate the impact they have made, as well as on the Young Impact Awards, the prestigious awards for young people who went above and beyond to make an impact. “In line with our bank-wide purpose of Banking for better, for generations to come, this partnership specifically empowers the generation of the future to make the world a better place. On the one hand by sponsoring the Young Impact Day and the Young Impact Awards, but also by helping young people directly by, for example, having our employees coach the nominees for the Young Impact Awards. This way, we help young people accelerate the transition to a cleaner and more equal world,” says Sander Bestevaar, ABN AMRO’s Head of Sponsoring & Events about the partnership. The bank and Young Impact are also teaming up on other initiatives, such as the launch of an impact programme at ABN AMRO-affiliated field hockey and tennis clubs.

“We are extremely proud of the two-year extension of the great collaboration we have with ABN AMRO. Together, we are empowering young people, so that they can make an impact on the world. We greatly look forward to pulling out all the stops during this year’s Young Impact Day and the Young Impact Awards,” says Young Impact Director Wendy Kakebeeke. In five years, Young Impact has grown into one of the largest players in the area of young people and social awareness in the Netherlands. The organisation has a firm belief that every single young person has a talent they can use to make a positive impact. The climax of the year is the Young Impact Day, which is scheduled to be held on 2 June this year. On this occasion, thousands of young people come together to celebrate their impact and take action.
