Equal opportunities, equal pay at ABN AMRO

November 14, 2022 is Equal Pay Day. On this day, ABN AMRO once again publishes the results of its equal pay study. As in 2020, we compare the pay of women and men within the bank.
In addition, for the first time we investigated whether there is unequal pay based on cultural background.
The main conclusions of the study are:
Women and men who work at ABN AMRO under the collective labour agreement (cla) at the same job level receive equal pay (i.e. equal pay for equal work or work of equal value). Men are still overrepresented in higher salary scales. The bank therefore has an active policy to make up for this disadvantage of women.
Non-Western employees receive the same salary as Western employees if we take into account relevant other background characteristics such as job level and the number of years of employment. There is therefore no 'cultural background pay gap' between Western and non-Western colleagues within ABN AMRO.
Since 1 January 2022, an adjusted remuneration policy has been in force for the upper collective labour agreement population. We expect this policy to bear fruit in the coming years.
