Jason Beeldsnijder takes over the helm from Gerrit Zalm

Jason Beeldsnijder, age 16, was given the chance to take over the helm from ABN AMRO's CEO Gerrit Zalm on January 29. His one-day experience was part of the project Tomorrow's Boss.
This project, initated by jINC (www.jinc.nl), aims to improve the outlook of disadvantaged youngsters.
Partner of the Future
ABN AMRO participated because it believes that all talented people in the Netherlands should get a fair chance on the job market. This project seamlessly connects with the bank’s ambition to be a Partner of the Future through its sponsoring and foundation activities. ABN AMRO gives people and organisations with vision an extra nudge to discover new talent or to realise their ambitions, motivating them to get the best out of themselves.
Jason's day
The day kicked off with a sit-down between Jason and Gerrit Zalm. Afterwards, Jason went on to explore the ABN AMRO organisation. His mission: work out what ABN AMRO can do to engage you and your friends and keep you engaged long-term.
To this end Jason talked with employees in various departments within ABN AMRO. By asking the right questions, after a few hours Jason already had a few very clear pieces of advice for Fred Bos, Senior Managing Director IPO.
Jason's advice
A few of his recommendations:
Invite youngsters to help brainstorm on the development of new products and services.
Be visible in places where youngsters are (festivals, schools etc.).
Make it possible to pay contactlessly with your smartphone case.
Gerrit Zalm asked Jason if he would consider working at ABN AMRO. Jason replied enthusiastically: "You have my business card!"
