More than 250 seal bag machines to reopen with additional security measures on 31 March

Early January, Dutch banks closed all their so-called seal bag machines, which businesses use to deposit cash in sealed bags. This was done following advice from the police about the risk of explosion robberies. A number of targeted measures have now made it possible to reopen 40 machines. From 31 March, 250 machines will be available across the country. Additional safety measures apply, however.
The machines scheduled to reopen are operated by Geldmaat, and can be used by clients of all banks. The machines will be open seven days a week from 7 am to 11 pm. From April onwards, the number of available seal bag machines will be expanded by 10 to 15 a week. To find out which seal bag machines are open, visit .
Advance online registration necessary
Since the shutdown early January, a great deal of effort has gone into finding ways to reopen the machines safely. The most important security measure becoming effective as of 31 March is that clients need to register seal bags through Internet Bankieren Zakelijk before deposit. Seal bags that have not been registered in advance cannot be deposited. Once registered, the deposit must take place within 48 hours. Seal bags that are over their expiry date can no longer be used. Clients can order new ones through Internet Bankieren Zakelijk.
