ABN AMRO is lowering interest rates on almost all of its retail savings accounts by 0.10% with effect from 31 January 2016. For example, the interest rate on ‘Direct Sparen’ instant-access internet savings accounts will be reduced from 0.7% to 0.6%.

The interest rate on the most popular savings account, ‘Vermogens Spaarrekening’, will be 0.90% including bonus interest, while it was previously 1.0%. Clients have been informed accordingly.

The reduction follows from the continuing decline in interest rates on money and capital markets.
