Cybersecurity – making life easier for SMEs

News item -

Research among SMEs reveals that cybercrime is one of the main headaches for entrepreneurs. Although aware of the risks, they lack the expertise, manpower and time to fully address and keep up with the issue.

ABN AMRO has joined with MMOX to launch a pilot project to help make life a little easier for its SME clients. MMOX has recently developed a suite of cybersecurity services especially for small and medium-sized enterprises, in recognition of which it has been nominated for two Computable Awards (soon to be awarded).

Prevention and solutions

The suite consists of sophisticated software to help identify and ward off cyber attacks, and is continuously updated. If a cyber issue does occur, entrepreneurs will receive recovery aid as well as compensation for any damage.

Add-on service to entrepreneurs

Over the next few months, a pilot group of entrepreneurs will test whether the new service meets their needs, and any findings will be used to improve it before it is offered more widely. Daphne de Kluis, CEO of Commercial Banking, comments: “We’re looking forward to the pilot results. Another great example of how we offer our clients add-on services through partnerships.”

SME cyber attacks on the rise

Earlier this month, IT trade website AG Connect reported that the number of cyber threats to SMEs has jumped, including in the Benelux countries. For more information, see their 9 October release (in Dutch only).
