ABN AMRO is launching a new app today for the Apple Watch and iPhone. The ‘Alert & Check’ app enables clients to receive free push alerts. They can choose to be notified, for instance, when their salary has been paid in or if their balance falls below a particular level.
They can also check their balance and the five most recent credits and debits without logging in. Users have the choice between six unique designs to display their account information. The app is available for iPhone (iOS 8.2 and above); it can be linked with an Apple Watch but can also be used without one.
Clients can set up a variety of push alerts on their iPhone and Apple Watch:
- Balance alert for selected upper and lower limits;
- Credit/debit alert for amounts above a pre-set level;
- Incoming payment alert when a predefined credit has been received;
- Completed incoming urgent transfer.
The rise of the smartphone has resulted in fundamental changes in consumer behaviour. Clients are connected around the clock and want businesses to adapt their services accordingly. They’re used to being informed proactively about important matters and expect their bank to do the same. Jessica Niewierra, Director of Digital Development & Interaction at ABN AMRO: “This app helps us satisfy our clients’ wish for real-time information about their finances. It will enable them to manage their money more effectively. They can also choose between several unique designs to personalise the app. ABN AMRO continues to invest in the ongoing development of our digital services and we are also working closely with our clients on their mobile bank.”
Meanwhile, the ABN AMRO Mobile Banking app remains as popular as ever. It was used over 54 million times in June 2015 and the number of log-ins via the app is now three times as high as the number via desktop Internet Banking.
