Arctic Blue Capital won ‘The AIF Factor’ competition at the 4th Amsterdam Investor Forum organised by ABN AMRO Clearing. The fund, a commodity trading advisor (CTA), was voted the clear winner out of six shortlisted alternative investment funds which made three-minute ‘elevator pitches’ to over 250 delegates, comprising institutional investors, funds of funds, high net worth individuals and a panel of four leading alternative-investment managers from the ‘Just don’t call me a fund of hedge funds panel’.
The shortlisted funds include ‘Skënderbeg Fund’ of Skënderbeg Alternative Investments AG, ‘Trium Blackwall Fund’ of Blackwall Capital Investment AG, ‘Nordkinn Fixed Income Macro Fund’ of Nordkinn Asset Management AB, ‘QLAB Convexity DL Fund’ of QLAB Invest Switzerland and ‘NextAM Tendance Finance’ of Tendance Finance.
Catherine Robinson, Analyst at EAS, the firm that seeded Arctic Blue Capital, commented: ‘It was an honour to participate in The AIF Factor 2015 among such impressive peers, and we are delighted that the attendees found Arctic Blue Capital’s long track record and return generation in difficult environments compelling. Winning The AIF Factor gives further impetus for what promises to be an excellent year, as we open the strategy to external investors for the first time, and as the opportunity set continues to be superb.’
Gildas Le Treut, Global Head of Prime Clearing at ABN AMRO Clearing: ‘Again this year, we had impressive finalists, not only for the quality of their message to the audience but also for the diversity of the strategies presented. The dynamism and the clarity of Arctic Blue Capital’s presentation made a particularly good impression on the delegates.’
‘Every year the quality of the pitches improves. We see a realisation that this event is becoming one of the leading events for funds to pitch at. The prestige that comes with presenting to over 250 investors is quite unique,’ said Marc de Kloe, Head of Alternatives & Funds at ABN AMRO Private Banking.
