Medium-Term Strategic Priorities Deliver expertise
We want to offer our clients valuable financial and sector expertise, both digitally and face-to-face. Our expertise is our strength; our knowledge and experience distinguish us from other banks. We have been named the best private bank and best corporate bank in the Netherlands for several years now, and our Mobile Banking app for Retail and Private Banking clients is one of the most highly rated banking apps in the Netherlands. Up to 2020, we want to develop our expertise further: we are strengthening and broadening our financial and sector knowledge, and we intend to use that know-how to pursue growth in more countries. We are also opening up our network in order to assist our clients more effectively, for example by forging new partnerships.
Enhance the client experience
In the years ahead, ABN AMRO will make digitalisation an even bigger priority. We want to enable clients to perform their transactions and place their trade orders anytime, anywhere and in any way they want. To do this, we are reshaping our IT landscape, investing in new technologies and joining forces with fintechs.
Innovate & Grow
We will be gradually growing our business in the coming years. Corporate Banking will use its sector expertise to serve corporates in Germany, France, Belgium and the UK and will also expand its ECT services, both geographically and by spreading into new sectors such as Natural resources and Food. Private Banking will enhance its activities in Northwest Europe while harmonising its IT platforms where possible. Meanwhile, MoneYou will add payment services to its product offering and will become a completely digital full-service European retail innovator. We also plan to introduce new digital innovators for Corporate Banking and Private Banking.
Deliver fast
We put our clients first and we are accelerating our efforts and digitising our products and services. We are committed to creating an organisation and culture based on trust, where there is space for new ideas and new ways of working. Our organisation will become simpler and have fewer layers, and we will do our work with fewer people. The businesses and IT will work in multidisciplinary teams to develop and improve products based on feedback from our clients. Agile working accelerates our time-to-market, involves clients in our product development and gives our employee, more autonomy and responsibility, making their work more meaningful.
