The EHL and ABN AMRO are happy to announce a brand new initiative: the Junior EHL. Four junior club teams get the unique opportunity to feel what it's like to be a real EHL Hero like Loïck Luypaert, Mink van der Weerden, Jeroen Hertzberger or Robert van der Horst. The teams will compete to be crowned as the first Junior EHL champion. The first edition of the Junior EHL will be organized on the 19th of April 2014 during the KO16/FINAL4, which will be held in Eindhoven from 16-21 April.
Play like an EHL Hero
ABN AMRO gives ‘Junior EHL talents’ from Dutch hockey clubs an unforgettable experience. They want to stimulate these talents so that they will be the best they can be and maybe in the future play in the EHL themselves. Top teams from the C division will get the chance to experience the real EHL. They will strive with other top teams from their own division. The winner of this Junior EHL will win the coveted Junior EHL trophy. The selected teams will play in the official EHL stadium in Eindhoven at MHC Oranje Zwart. Furthermore they will have the same experience as the real EHL players: there will be a DJ, they will have their team meeting in the EHL dressing rooms, there will be a line-up on the official EHL pitch and the games will be lead by real EHL umpires.
Start 19 April 2014
The first edition will start on Saturday 19 April 2014. The following clubs will compete in this first edition: Nijmegen JC1, Naarden JC1, Laren JC1 and Rotterdam JC1. These four teams all play in the IDC division and belong to the best teams of the Netherlands. All teams are very enthusiastic and have started preparing themselves so they can give a great preformance at the Junior EHL.
The first edition of the Junior EHL in the EHL stadium will be accessible for everyone. It is also possible to follow the Junior EHL during the whole day on Twitter via @ABNAMROSport.
