ABN AMRO appoints Yannick Huygens as Head of Corporate Banking Belgium

ABN AMRO is pleased to announce that Yannick Huygens has been appointed as Head of Corporate Banking in Belgium. Huygens’ appointment is the next step in supporting the bank’s growth ambitions for its corporate banking activities in neighbouring countries of the Netherlands. ‘Belgium has grown the maritime and corporate banking segment successfully during the last years. The foundation is ready. It is now time for the next step’, says Hugo Peek, Regional Head EMEA, Corporate & Institutional Banking.

Growth in Northwest Europe

As announced in August 2016, ABN AMRO’s ambition is to grow its international business. This includes the growth of corporate banking activities in Germany, France, Belgium and the UK within its sectors of expertise, including Clearing, Asset-Based Lending, Global Markets, International Desks and Financial Institutions. In January 2017, ABN AMRO appointed Stefan Meine as Head of Corporate Banking in Germany to lead the bank’s expansion in Germany. And in April, Zafar Khan joined the bank as Head of UK Coverage, Corporate and Institutional Banking.

About Yannick Huygens

Huygens is a highly reputable banker and has gathered over 20 years' experience in corporate coverage banking, tailoring solutions for a number of large corporates headquartered in the Benelux, France and Switzerland. Before joining ABN AMRO he has set up and lead Corporates Banking teams at HSBC and BBVA in Belgium. He also worked for Lloyds Banking Group and Commerzbank. In addition to Yannick Huygens, Erik Alens was appointed as Senior Banker, bringing knowledge and experience of the corporate and maritime sector specifically as head of the International Desk in Belgium.
