ABN AMRO MeesPierson’s Philanthropy Advice team has been selected as the winner of the eighth edition of the WealthBriefing European Awards 2020 – a major international accolade in the wealth management arena. The team at ABN AMRO MeesPierson, which earned its spurs in the charity sector, left leading international private banks and consultancies trailing well behind it.

The prize was bestowed on ABN AMRO MeesPierson’s Philanthropy Advice team in recognition of the role it plays as a bridge builder in the sector combined with its wide range of services and in-depth expertise. The jury report highlighted elements such as its innovative pricing model, which allows clients to decide how much they feel the advice is worth (pay-what-you-want). The department donates a quarter of its revenues to projects that promote a favourable climate for philanthropy.
“Clients who give to philanthropic causes or play an active role in a foundation can benefit from a sound gift strategy. Our specialists help them to find a charity that’s the right fit for them and that they can trust. Through that service they help bring to light the philanthropic identity of our clients,” explains Frank Aalderinks, Head of Philanthropy Advice at ABN AMRO MeesPierson. “We believe in ‘giving with a plan’ so that the client can stay connected to their drive and opt for effective organisations with a proven track record. That increases the giver’s impact. It’s a real honour that not just our clients but our colleagues in the field, too, appreciate the value of this. We’re extremely proud that our team has won this award.”
