The third annual survey of mobile apps for banking has put ABN AMRO in eighth place, making it the only Dutch bank in the global Top Ten. Carried out by MyPrivateBanking Research, this annual survey of mobile apps from retail banks praised the personalised features, innovative add-ons and intuitive ease of use of ABN AMRO's mobile apps.
ABN AMRO has strengthened its Sector Origination capabilities for Energy, Commodities & Transportation (ECT) clients, in order to further build its dedicated advisory services for cross border and event driven corporate activity in these sectors.
ABN AMRO’s Mobile Banking app has been renewed and further improved. For example, it can now handle IBAN international bank account numbers. The address book has been converted to IBAN format, and iOS and Android users will henceforth be able to use an IBAN scanner for giro collection forms, and will no longer have to enter the details by hand. It will still be possible for the time being to make payments without an IBAN; in that case, the account number will be automatically converted.
Opening a joint bank account strengthens the bond between cohabiting partners: that is the finding of research carried out for ABN AMRO by the Dutch National Institute for Family Finance Information (Nibud). Having a joint account reduces the disagreements between partners about money and means there are fewer financial worries. Generally speaking, couples think their partner handles money well.
From 1 May 2013, ABN AMRO clients can no longer use the Account Balance app (Saldo App) to check their balance.
