On 25 April 2019, ABN AMRO Bank N.V. announced the sale of its private banking Channel Islands operations to Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited (“Butterfield”). The transaction was completed on 15 July 2019.

The legal merger between ABN AMRO Bank N.V. (ABN AMRO Bank) and ABN AMRO Group N.V. (ABN AMRO Group) has been completed, in line with the announcement of 24 June. The legal merger will become effective on 29 June.
ABN AMRO has received all relevant declarations of no objection from regulatory authorities for the legal merger between ABN AMRO Bank N.V. (ABN AMRO Bank) and ABN AMRO Group N.V. (ABN AMRO Group). The execution of the legal merger deed is scheduled for 28 June 2019. As a consequence, the legal merger is set to become effective on 29 June 2019.

In its new Investment Outlook ‘Riding the Wave’, the bank explains that the equity markets are out of step with the current economic environment, creating a situation that is untenable in the long term. ABN AMRO landed the Gouden Lotus Award Hypotheekmarkt (‘Golden Lotus Award for the Mortgage Market’) for best mortgage provider in the Netherlands in 2019. And not only that: at the HypoVak awards ceremony in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands, on Tuesday 28 May, the bank also landed the Golden Lotus Award for Most Innovative Mortgage Product, for its recently launched Home Equity Mortgage. These awards are an initiative of the InFinance trade journal and the Hypotheek Business Club (‘Mortgage Business Club’). The winners were picked by financial advisers across the Netherlands, who rated the nominees on performance, products and services.
On 28 March, ABN AMRO announced that it had reached an agreement to sell 75% of its shares in Stater to Infosys. Today, the transaction was closed. ABN AMRO will retain a strategic interest of 25% and will continue to be an important client of Stater.
