CEE-3 Watch – Robust but not immune to global slowdown

Growth surprised to the upside in the first quarter of 2019. Apparent decoupling from the German economy. We have revised our growth forecast upwards for Hungary and Poland and downwards for the Czech Republic. Rising wages are increasingly feeding into higher inflation, but we foresee no policy hikes by the central banks. Currencies are expected to remain resilient.
